This is not exactly a destination wedding per se, although the couple isn’t familiar with the local vendors in Johor, and their guests had to fly in from all over the world. The logistics for this were immense; Wanlyn shared a beautiful account of the day that would be extremely useful for those of you wanting to plan a wedding that is even an hour or two away from home.

We love how a few things were done differently in this wedding; for example, how the godmother of Thibaut solemnised the ceremony since they had already been legally married two days prior. Also, we like how instead of only the couple flying off for their honeymoon, most of their guests actually joined them in Bali. That must have been the coolest after party ever. Thanks, Ann-Kathrin, for capturing these amazing photos.

Wanlyn: ““The vow exchange and dinner ceremonies were held at the Pulai Springs Resort. We had considered several venue options in Singapore, but it was clear from the outset that we would pick Pulai Springs Resort. The vast space, natural air and endless mounds of perfect and well kept lawns made my mind drift to the soundtrack of the Shire from the Lord of the Rings each time we were there.

“What would a wedding be without a photographer to capture those precious moments? Enter our one and only foreign vendor import, Ann-Kathrin Koch, our photographer for our engagement photos, the wedding event, as well as our mini-moon in Bali, Indonesia. We had a most fabulous day during the engagement shoot in Munich, and right from that point I knew I needed Ann right here with me in Malaysia on my big day. She was completely unfazed by the tropical heat, and that was her first event coverage in Asia. The fact that it was a marathon 18-hour job made her even more impressive. She rose to the occasion and delivered a most spectacular job. I will definitely be needing Ann some years from now for some family portraits.”
