The bride shared: “The moment we stepped into the ballroom for the first march-in, seeing the décor, looking around at our guests, hearing the string quartet – it was surreal. It was beyond what we had imagined and the moment was truly magical.

“For our second march-in, we wanted to do something different so we danced our way in with sparklers, together with our groomsmen and bridesmaids. That was so much fun and such an awesome way to celebrate the moment, especially after the months of preparation for this special day.”

The couple wanted a woodland theme that was inspired by the outdoors and alfresco weddings. Given the tropical weather, they decided to create the effect indoors by bringing in flowers, foliage and other forest elements. A palette of greens, dark reds and dusty pink was quickly decided upon.

Tips from the bride: “Be sure to hire a wedding planner! We were so thankful we decided to engage Michelle of Arches and Co, as she made the actual day planning so much smoother than we could have done ourselves. We could enjoy ourselves a whole lot more as we didn’t have to worry about anything. The less DIY you do, the better. We had many ideas for our décor and purchased plenty of items online but we barely used any in the end. It’s just better to engage vendors to do everything for you. Lastly, down a shot of whiskey before the march-in! That helped to calm our nerves.”
