We can’t help but smile going through this gorgeous album. The wedding was supposed to have been held in the outdoor area of the Rama V Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur, but alas, it started to pour just half an hour before the ceremony – just as the couple arrived! We love how undeterred they were, putting their best foot forward and bringing their wedding indoors. Our thanks to Louis Gan Photography for these brilliant captures, and Little Once Deco and Witchwood The Florist for the lovely décor!

The bride shared: “Fortunately, we managed to move everything indoors with the help of the restaurant staff and our guests. Despite the delay, the ceremony went well and everything else went as planned. The rain made our wedding a little bit cosier, and the weather was great after that for outdoor pictures! My groom’s dad presented a poem that he had written himself in the Hakka dialect (as both our families are of Hakka origin), which had everyone laughing despite their not knowing the language!”

The wedding theme was cosy and modern tropical goodness, in line with the couple’s desire for a fun and bright afternoon function. Pops of bright colour matched the venue, which featured broad strokes of nature and plenty of natural lighting. The restaurant was perfect for an intimate wedding, and the couple wanted Thai food for a change from the standard Chinese wedding menu. The tables, and even the restrooms, were scented with Jo Malone London candles to create a romantic ambience, and guests received a deluxe-sized bottle of Jo Malone cologne in addition to personalised hand sanitisers with a special thank you message.

Tips from the bride: “Tap into your friends and contacts, and you will discover that a lot of them are multi-talented! Seek advice from married couples, especially those who are recently married. In our case, they gave the most valuable advice and you get to learn from others’ mistakes and best practices! With the Covid-19 pandemic, less is more. Don’t over-plan and focus on having the people that matter most to you. Always have a Plan B, as there will be last-minute cancellations. Invest in a good photographer! They capture the most precious moments and you will be able to see more of what went on during your wedding.”
