This is no ordinary post. A month ago, William sent us an email saying that he wanted to submit his wedding story to surprise his wife, who will be abroad for their anniversary. He said that she has always wanted to send us their story, but never got around to doing it. How thoughtful of him! We’re amazed that he could provide us with all the details of his wedding vendors. He’s a good man, Trisha, and we hope you can feel his love from afar. Thanks to Anna-Rina and Matt for capturing these beautiful memories.

“Hi dear, I hope this post is a surprise! It’s our 1st wedding anniversary! Can’t believe we are now apart again – the day we first started dating, you were in Kuantan and I was in Kota Kinabalu, and now you are in New Zealand. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I miss you and I love you. Your work in New Zealand is tough and the weather freezing cold now, so please take good care of yourself. Happy anniversary, and I will see you and celebrate with you soon!” – William.

William: “Every moment of our wedding was memorable, especially standing at the wedding arch, tearing up when the bride walked in, and the part where we said our vows to each other. I know the father and daughter dance meant a lot to my wife as it was her dream to dance with her dad on our special day. I find it hard to forget our first dance too.

“We wanted a rustic and earthy green wedding theme so Tanarimba was the perfect choice. We fell in love with the place when we first visited it. Trisha and I designed the invitations. One of our friends, Siang Chin, designed the beautiful rustic programme book. The bridesmaids also helped to set up the dessert table.”

Tips for brides-to-be: “Decide on your wedding concept or theme, then work from there. Pinterest is a good platform for getting ideas. You can DIY some items like the invitations, programme books and decorations. Always work within your budget; your wedding is just the beginning! Get your close friends to help you, both during the wedding planning process and on the day itself. Designate specific roles and divide the tasks among your friends. Don’t forget that the groomsmen and bridesmaids are there to help you, so let them run the show on the day – as the bridal couple, you should just sit back, relax and enjoy!
