A Flower-Filled, Cosy East-Meets-West Wedding At Isabel Restaurant, KL

It was indeed an East-meets-West affair at Isabel Restaurant, a trendy French-inspired eatery in the heart of KL. Already filled with lush blooms and greenery, the chequered floors and rattan furniture added texture to the décor, so all the bride and groom had to bring were themselves, their loved ones, and a joyous celebration of their love! With small weddings becoming the norm due to Covid-19, it has become increasingly trendy to have your wedding ceremony and reception at the same venue. Many thanks to Andrew Yep Photographie for capturing these sweet photos.

The Wedding Notebook Magazine October 2020 – Issue 32

We love how, amid this gloomy pandemic season, couples are brightening up their weddings with exuberant floral arrangements and happy Fall hues. Unlike the usual, highly structured big weddings of before, today’s weddings are all about keeping things small, intimate and joyful. Love is always worth celebrating, even in this season. In the same way, the latest bridal collections might be notable for their simplicity and minimalism, but they definitely aren’t short on glamour, showing up in metallic shades and sexy bodices. Looking at this issue, we are reminded of why we love weddings, and the joy and hope this very special occasion brings to our lives. {If you have…

Just Strolling Through Shanghai With an Adorable Alpaca

Living and working in a hip city like Shanghai with your fiancé is a special experience. You have a bank of memories from building this chapter of your lives together, away from all that is familiar, and you want to remember how you’ve made this place home. Shanghai, with its iconic streets, memorable frames of skyscrapers, and eclectic mix of Chinese-European residences, all make for a meaningful engagement album that encapsulates this Malaysian couple’s life in this season. We love their carefree spirit in these images, and check out that adorable alpaca curiously eyeing its surroundings. It’s an unusual addition to an engagement album but it’s so docile, you can’t…

A Traditional Chinese Wedding At The Blue Mansion (Cheong Fatt Sze) Penang

More often than not, what matters to a couple will naturally be reflected in their wedding. For Kee Hong and Louis, who met in England and celebrated their engagement in romantic Paris, honouring family traditions and their heritage was at the heart of their wedding, which was held at the Blue Mansion in Penang. Fusing auspicious red with blue, beige and cream, the couple created a wedding palette that was loud in its declaration of prosperity and tradition, yet modern and easy on the eyes. Many thanks to Andrew Yep Photographie for this smashing album!

DIY Wedding Of Gold, Pink And White At Cameron Highlands

Fusing delicate peonies with elements of gold for their wedding, this couple went the DIY route – as much as they could. The groom, graphic designer and wedding photographer Andrew Yep, designed the invitations and stationery, and created direction boards using recycled wood and hand painted calligraphy. Meanwhile, the wedding favours were jars of locally produced strawberry jam. Thanks for these beautiful photos, Peter Herman Photography, and congratulations, Alice and Andrew! Our best wishes with you, and we’re so happy to see you both tie the knot.

    A Multi-Cultural, Multi-Colour Peranakan Wedding

A wedding is more than just a union of two people – it’s a union of families, cultures and communities. For this bride and groom, their wedding reflected their Baba Nyonya roots with each of their cultural ceremonies – an ‘akad nikah’ for her side of the family, and tea ceremony for his side of the family. A multi-cultural wedding also meant a beautiful combination of colours – from the thoughtful decorative pieces to that amazing ombre cake! Many thanks to Andrew Yep Photographie for capturing this gorgeous wedding full of joy and colour. Aina: “We wanted our wedding to reflect both of our cultures, so we decided to pay…

A Yellow and Grey Industrial DIY Wedding In Kuching

This was a wedding of contrasts, as the venue was rustic with its exposed brick walls yet industrial with its steel staircase and high ceilinged warehouse interior. Strung with lights and set up in a combination of yellow and light grey, this wedding was literally brought together by the efforts of the bride and groom. Their DIY project brought them closer together and they made sure their wedding reflected their personalities and love story. We love the little details too: succulents in the bride’s bouquet, and the various decorative accents. Many thanks to Andrew Yep Photographie for capturing this beautiful wedding.
