A Stylish DIY Floral Wedding at Raffles Hotel, Singapore

What’s a wedding without flowers? We never want to find out, and especially not when the bride is a wedding florist herself! Linnette from Floral Magic knew right off the bat that she wanted lots of flowers, but what truly made her day special was getting to say “I do” to the love of her life, and seeing her family and friends come together for the celebration. Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for these photos. Linnette: “There were so many memorable moments! Both of us catching each other’s eyes at the end of the aisle, my niece hijacking my sister’s speech with a song because she wanted to perform,…

Fuss-free and light-hearted weddings take centre stage this issue, as we share stories of couples who kept things intimate with a small reception – or ditched their reception in favour of a photography session. When it comes to wedding venues, your imagination is your limit, from the traditional cathedral or ballroom to a boutique hotel or even the Tipi Tent at Night Safari in Singapore. In all our stories, each couple found beautiful ways to make the venue their own with simple additions. As for bridal portraits, the pandemic’s travel restrictions have meant that couples are limited to destinations within their own countries, but do not despair. See how photographers…

The Wedding Notebook Magazine October 2020 – Issue 32

We love how, amid this gloomy pandemic season, couples are brightening up their weddings with exuberant floral arrangements and happy Fall hues. Unlike the usual, highly structured big weddings of before, today’s weddings are all about keeping things small, intimate and joyful. Love is always worth celebrating, even in this season. In the same way, the latest bridal collections might be notable for their simplicity and minimalism, but they definitely aren’t short on glamour, showing up in metallic shades and sexy bodices. Looking at this issue, we are reminded of why we love weddings, and the joy and hope this very special occasion brings to our lives. {If you have…

Edgy and Contemporary with Sleek Lines and Wildflowers

Brides-to-be tend to find themselves in this common dilemma when planning their wedding: to keep things classic and risk veering on ‘boring’ and ‘predictable’, or spice things up with a contemporary look and risk having a look that dates? What’s chic and contemporary these days is a balance of the two, such as dried wildflowers set against sleek lines and modern tablescapes, warm wooden textures juxtaposed against steely cool structures, and a palette of earthy tones with subtle gilded touches. Above all, sustainability is important – most of the décor can be repurposed by the newlyweds for their new home. Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for this impressive set…

A Classic Red Wedding with a Contemporary Twist at CHIJMES Singapore

The couple had a tonne of ideas for their wedding, but they scoured Pinterest to find images that they liked – flowers, attire, stationery and more – before settling on a concept. They wanted a wedding that was dramatic and loud with a good dose of fun, quirkiness and sophistication, and initially thought about having a “moody romance” theme, but couldn’t quite put their finger on it until they met Larry from Hello From Flour, a bespoke styling and dessert provider in Singapore. He finalised their concept into what he named “All You Need Is Love… and a Neon Sign!” This concept served as a guide for the couple as…

A Botanical Chic Wedding at Studio Three Sixteen With Fur-kids

We love it when a bridal couple incorporates their great loves into their special day. For these newlyweds, it was their two fur-babies who not only got to attend the nuptials, but also featured prominently in the décor. The neon lights were a chic addition that upped the glam factor, and hats off to this special couple for making their celebration as environmentally conscious as possible too! Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for capturing such beautiful photos.

Be it a glam or contemporary wedding, whether it’s held in a vintage loft somewhere in the countryside or outdoors at a destination far away, simplicity is the new norm. White flowers and lush greenery paired with muted or pastel shades seems to be the way to go, and it’s easy to see why. Intimate weddings that allow bridal couples to focus on the important details are also a favourite, with brides embracing minimalism even when it comes to their wedding gowns. Speaking of wedding gowns, don’t miss the hottest looks from Fall 2020, including bows and one-shoulder dresses. Meanwhile, a wedding photographer tied the knot with his sweetheart, and…

A Nostalgia-inspired Modern Wedding+Whimsical Vibrant Garden Ceremony in Singapore

Weddings tend to signify the turning point of going from your past into your future, and for these newlyweds, that came in the form of their wedding celebrations. Opting for traditional and nostalgia first, with a church solemnisation and tea ceremony, they let loose with their friends on the second day, surrounded by nature and with much dancing beneath the night sky. Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for capturing this gorgeous wedding. Desiree: “Being married by Msgr Ambrose, who had journeyed with us for a year and knew us so well, was so special. A Cosy, Autumn-themed Wedding At The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

The sweetest part of this wedding was how much the newlyweds included the guests into their special day. From keeping it intimate and personalising agate slices to illustrating the guests for the guestbook, the couple ensured that their wedding day meant just as much to their loved ones as it did to them. We love the massive grazing table that was put together by the couple’s friends, and the entire day was clearly filled with so much love and warmth. Also, how beautiful are the deep green eucalyptus leaves and ferns, set against the burnt orange and blush pink tones! Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for capturing this beautiful…
