A Modern Malay Wedding in The Oak Hall, Kuala Lumpur
Most traditional weddings tend to be very big affairs, which is understandable. After all, the marriage of two individuals should be celebrated, and as the saying goes, the more the merrier, right? Not anymore. These days, it’s more about the bridal couple and their closest family and friends. This wedding was classically perfect in so many ways, from the exquisite lace on the bride’s gown and veil to the groom’s navy suit. We also love the bridesmaids’ batik skirts and the groomsmen’s printed shirts. The décor was kept understated and modern, with red and white flowers and a simple bench for the dais, all bathed in gorgeous sunlight. Thanks to…

Modern Oriental Bridal Portraits at Alila Yangshuo, China
Guilin is a popular travel destination, but who would have thought it would be such a great bridal portrait destination too? We were completely floored by the beauty in these photos. A mark of an amazing photographer is the ability to play with light, dimensions and framing, and translate that into their photos. Here, the use of architectural breezeblocks and the various textures of nature helped to create the perfect backdrop. Louis Gan Photography is indeed one of the best out there – colour us impressed!

An Outdoor Garden Ceremony at Zebra Square Kuala Lumpur
This is a beautiful love story of a man who surprised the love of his life with a day trip to Tasmania from Sydney, where they live. He proposed to her on a lavender farm that was in full bloom. Fast forward to their wedding day, held at Zebra Square in Kuala Lumpur, and we love how the sophisticated venue was adorned in a dreamy palette of lavender, pink and blush beautifully put together by Hooraydeco. Thank you for this gorgeous album, Basetime Production!

A Glamorous Paradise of an Outdoor Wedding at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa
Weddings really are about celebrating with the people who have stood with you through your courtship. When this couple began planning their wedding, they first considered a destination wedding on a tropical island. However, they soon dismissed the idea, knowing that not all of their family and friends would be able to make it. Thanks, MunKeat Photography, for sharing such a gorgeous night with us.

Romantic Floral Themed Studio Bridal Portraits
While most of us tend to opt for outdoor bridal portraits, not least for the natural lighting, we are all at the mercy of the weather and its unpredictability. Fortunately for this couple, Joshua Koh of Joshua Koh Photography and Sherly of Tie the Knot were able to bring the outdoors inside, thanks to their liberal use of flowers, minimal props, and beautiful lighting. The results are light and sweet, invoking a sense of spring, which is appropriate given that spring is the season of love, after all. What a fresh take on studio bridal portraits, and we love the bride’s gorgeous asymmetrical hem bridal gown with pockets! Sherly of…

A Traditional Yet Glamorous Blush Pink Wedding in Sarawak
It’s not often that we get to feature an Iban wedding, and this one was beautifully put together, from the cosy and intimate celebrations with close friends and family to the open reception that included everyone in Kapit. What’s even more amazing is that a clear theme was maintained throughout – the blush, grey and light gold palette tastefully brought together with textures such as drapery, florals and other traditional elements. Many thanks to Andy Phe of Bespoke Photographics and Melia Linggi of the Tun Jugah Foundation for all the important information on Iban weddings and customs. Amanda: “The theme for our church blessing was ‘Rustic Garden’. Our altar stage…

Indoor Garden Wedding At Glasshouse At Seputeh Kuala Lumpur
Couples who want an outdoor wedding but need the comfort of air-conditioning would do well to host it at Glasshouse at Seputeh. From its high ceilings and tall black windowpanes to the brick walls and concrete finishings, the venue has just the right décor for a garden theme, and provides a refreshing change from the conventional ballroom setup. For Charley and Reugene, they also included items to replicate the night they first met, as well as food stations serving decadent entrées, desserts and a wide assortment of cheeses. Surrounded by family and friends, their wedding was everything they had envisioned, and their priority of people over matter was surely evident.…

From gilded candlesticks and chairs to feathers, beads and all that jazz, Mellissa and Kristian’s wedding celebration certainly paid homage to the glam era of Old Hollywood. A Dusty Blue And Cream Modern Wedding At Marble 8
Sometimes the best wedding ideas appear when you’re not looking, and that’s what happened with this bride, as she fell in love with what she thought was an unconventional wedding colour. The result was a sleek and elegant modern wedding: from the floral adornments of the lush hedge wall framing the couple’s exchange of vows, to the gold glitter tablecloth that added a touch of glamour. Thanks to Joshua of Inlight Photos for capturing this stunning set of photos!
