7 Picture Perfect Places For Snowy Bridal Portraits

What is it about snow that instantly paints a magic brush over everything? That romantic dusting of powder, the majestic and moody ice-topped mountains, the dreamy blanket of white over everything – it’s so beautiful, and an adventurous shift from our tropical weather of course! Sure, it might get a little cold, but what’s a couple of frozen minutes for photos that will last a lifetime, right? These following brides certainly were not afraid to travel to some far-flung places for that winter wonderland feel. #01 Iceland Story: Dramatic and Glamorous Bridal Portraits in Iceland by Acapella Photography There’s something wonderfully exotic about Iceland, with its terrain that’s unlike anywhere…

Modern Oriental Bridal Portraits at Alila Yangshuo, China

Guilin is a popular travel destination, but who would have thought it would be such a great bridal portrait destination too? We were completely floored by the beauty in these photos. A mark of an amazing photographer is the ability to play with light, dimensions and framing, and translate that into their photos. Here, the use of architectural breezeblocks and the various textures of nature helped to create the perfect backdrop. Louis Gan Photography is indeed one of the best out there – colour us impressed!

Just Strolling Through Shanghai With an Adorable Alpaca

Living and working in a hip city like Shanghai with your fiancé is a special experience. You have a bank of memories from building this chapter of your lives together, away from all that is familiar, and you want to remember how you’ve made this place home. Shanghai, with its iconic streets, memorable frames of skyscrapers, and eclectic mix of Chinese-European residences, all make for a meaningful engagement album that encapsulates this Malaysian couple’s life in this season. We love their carefree spirit in these images, and check out that adorable alpaca curiously eyeing its surroundings. It’s an unusual addition to an engagement album but it’s so docile, you can’t…

Glamorous High Fashion Bridal Portraits in Shanghai

Shanghai never disappoints, with its rich history and twinkling lights in stark contrast with the skyscrapers and modern infrastructure. Yet the allure of old China remains when you explore its sidewalks and pavements, and these photos are proof. We love the bride’s jaw-dropping outfits and dramatic makeup, the hustle and bustle of the streets, and especially that rooftop shot overlooking the Shanghai skyline! Many thanks to Oly Ruiz of Metrophoto for these shots, which, by the way, were only the first stop for the couple in a series of locations across China. Don’t miss part 2 of their bridal portraits, which were taken in Lijiang and Shangri-La.

Untouched Beauty: Traditional Bridal Portraits in Lijiang and Shangri-La, China

If heaven were a place on earth, Shangri-La would come close. Part of the Tibetan Autonomous Region, it’s an untouched landscape, a slice of tucked-away magic with its quiet people, majestic monasteries and curious wildlife. Worthy of a fashion editorial, the styling of these bridal portraits, with those impeccable outfits against the scenic backdrops creating the perfect contrast of colours, patterns and textures, simply took our breath away! What an outstanding job by Oly Ruiz of Metrophoto. These shots are actually the second part in a series of bridal portraits taken across China, so don’t forget to check out part 1, which was taken in Shanghai.

Having a mutual affection for Shanghai, it made sense that this couple would tell their wedding story through this city, starting with their bridal portraits. The Beautiful Town Of Lijiang

The town of Lijiang feels like a movie set. Its rich culture and gorgeous architecture were carefully captured by Andrew Yep Photographie in these photos. We especially love Yvonne’s blue and white modern cheongsam – it looks great against the wooden exteriors. Andrew Yep: “The beautiful old town of Lijiang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has retained its historic cobblestone streets, canals and market squares from a thousand years ago. Just outside the old town, you’ll also find picturesque snowy mountains and stunning lakes. “The bride, Yvonne, is a former air stewardess and has travelled to quite a few places around the world. She took a liking to…

A Day In A Beautiful Neighbourhood Of Shanghai

Effie and Winston met through work in New York City. Both are currently residing in Shanghai, and it is beautiful to have their photographer capture their everyday life around their neighbourhood. We love this because when you look at these photos, you don’t just focus on how they look, but you also allow the surroundings to add another layer of narrative. We can’t emphasise enough how much we love Chris Spira’s photography style, and the fact that she spends so much time in Asia. You should really catch her when she is in town!

    60s Style Glam

This contemporary young couple in Shenzhen were determined to go against conventional wedding trends. For the gatecrashing ceremony, the bride wore a short, retro dress and a birdcage veil. She kept the guest list relatively small, turning the rooftop of The Langham Hotel into a romantic garden for their wedding, which was followed by an after party. From these photos that were beautifully captured by Chris Spira, one thing’s for sure: Vien and Michael look like they thoroughly enjoyed their big day. Weddings like this one are what we hope to see more.
