A Dreamy Bohemian Garden Wedding at Alila Villas Uluwatu

So much of this wedding was infused with the newlyweds’ own style and quirky personality. Against a colour palette of whites and nudes, other elements such as the golden plates, decorative branches and geometric vases added a dramatic flair. We love the bride’s beautiful lace bridal grown, paired with a bold vampy lip, and the groom’s unusual beige double-breasted suit! Complementing the couple were the bridal party’s coordinating outfits – blouse and skirt combos for the pretty bridesmaids and dark suits for the dapper groomsmen. Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali is known for its serene location overlooking the ocean, and indeed it is a picture perfect place to tie the…

The Wedding Notebook Magazine July 2018 – Issue 23

From a fairytale wedding in an 18th century French château to a Tuscan vineyard and even a cave in Bali, this issue is all about exploring destination weddings. One of the best things about destination weddings is that often, the picturesque landscapes and stunning spaces are enough on their own. This takes away the chore of decorating so that couples can focus on what really matters – their guests, and one another. Speaking of picturesque landscapes, one very courageous couple and their photographer took destination bridal portraits to a whole new level – literally! Opting for the road less travelled, they headed up to the dizzying heights of Peru’s Rainbow…

A Lush Green and White Intimate Floral Wedding in Jakarta

Closely resembling an indoor garden, this intimate wedding was warm and enveloped in so much love and nature, with décor comprising lush greens and botanicals with simple, clean white flowers. Attended by family and close friends only, it was the perfect mix of modern and rustic, with a nod towards traditions and family. The bride’s lace gown and veil added texture to the simple colour palette, while the groom’s tan linen suit complemented the warm neutrals perfectly. Many thanks to DiktatPhotography for this wonderful set of photos!

Blush And Brass Garden Wedding At Alila Villas Uluwatu Bali

It was as much a reunion as it was a wedding celebration for Ken Eun and Min Chung. We love how this South Korean couple living in New York had a most intimate garden wedding at Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali, Indonesia. Planning a destination wedding can be a stressful affair, especially with the remote sourcing and organising, but kudos to this awesome bride for pulling it off so beautifully. Many thanks to DiktatPhotography for these mesmerising photos! Kee Uen was browsing on Pinterest when she fell in love with the blush on green theme. Combining bronze, brass and tan with varying shades of blush, the couple’s wedding was a…

A Summer Floral Wedding in Morabito Art Villa, Bali

A destination wedding doesn’t have to compromise on cosiness and comfort — this beautiful Bali wedding paired summery flora and leafy green hues with vintage rustic elements. The joyous colours were warm, relaxed and elegant, and this had all the makings of an intimate soiree by the sea. Special thanks to Diktat Photography for this lovely set of photos.

    Stunning Hideouts In Indonesia

Diktatphotography brought this couple to some of the area’s most gorgeous hideouts, which is a good reminder why you should consider hiring a local photographer. The bride brought her own attire and makeup, and we think she looks beautiful with her hijabs (headscarves). This just goes to show that you do not need to compromise your religious practices to look contemporary. Hire the right photographer and they’ll bring out the best in you.

Exotic Garden Wedding At Villa Pemutih Bali

We love garden weddings, but it’s even better when the garden overlooks the ocean, and the sounds of the waves can be heard. DiktatPhotography did an amazing job capturing this beautiful affair with all its vivid colours. And just look at that white dress!

    A Statement Bride

This was a story we couldn’t resist. Jess has immensely great style and we love how she wore the traditional ‘kebaya’ for her walk down the aisle instead of a regular, contemporary, white wedding gown. She kept the white gown for her reception, but she still made a statement with her bouquet choice. This wedding is so simple yet so gorgeous and memorable because the couple knew what would make all the difference. For capturing all the beautiful details, we surely have DiktatPhotography to thank.

Under A Magical Tree On Lembongan Island

We swore that we wouldn’t feature Lembongan Island again, and then this arrived in our mailbox. How could we resist that tree all lit up with lights, or the open sky with too many stars to count? Kudos to the DiktatPhotography team; this looks really different in a good way, and there is a truly magical feel to it. DiktatPhotography: “Jolene and Chu Wei, a couple from Malaysia, wanted to have their bridal portraits taken on Lembongan Island, with the theme a night under the stars. We got to Lembongan from Sanur Beach by speedboat, and it took us about half an hour. We planned to stay overnight on the island…
