A Retro 1960s-Inspired Backyard Wedding
The best thing about having a DIY wedding is that no matter what, it becomes very closely personalised to your own style and story. This couple was no exception, from involving their friends and family in the process to rummaging through their parents’ old knick-knacks. (They found some real gems!) We loved the relaxed vibe and casual décor, complete with the loving smiles of the newlyweds and their guests. Thanks to Memoir Click Studio for this pretty set of photos.

A 1920s Old Shanghai Wedding At Grand Hyatt, KL
We are in love with this elaborately decorated wedding that drew inspiration from the glamorous era of 1920s Old Shanghai styled by Wishing Tree. With its deep red hues, balanced by regal turquoise and green, textured patterns and lights, everything was brought together the way only a couple with a design and architectural background could. Even more impressive, they planned all this while in Melbourne, as they’re based there! No detail was left out – from the table centerpieces to the photobooth wall, from the flowers to the favours. They even hired vendors and performers to add to the oriental experience. Many thanks to Peter Herman Photography for capturing the…

A Vintage Polka Dot Picnic
We love the vintage theme in red and teal – there’s a sense of nostalgia that’s also really fun, which perfectly fit this duo. The dog was definitely a perfect add-on to complete the picnic look. Thanks Styled, with Love Photography. It is a great set, can’t wait to see more from your team!

A Real Life Story Of Serendipity Remade
These things usually only happen in movies, which is why we felt that we really had to share this beautiful love story. Plus this video is very artistically and beautifully put together, from the location and set to the attire, mood and angles. Congrats on a great production, Shepherd Portraiture. And the photos look great too!

Newfound gems
This photographer, Douglas Ho, invited his friends from Hong Kong over to Penang for a short trip and to give them the bridal portraits of a lifetime. It’s not just the photos and styling; the treatment is astounding. If not for the famous art mural by Ernest Zacharevic, we wouldn’t have guessed that this is taken recently. One day in the future, someone is going to have a hard time figuring out when these photos were taken.

1940s Peranakan Themed Party At Seven Terraces
Penang is known for its beautiful boutique hotels and architecture. Seven Terraces is one of its many beautiful properties, and when the owner decided to celebrate his birthday there, Jo Kee of Bliss & Glitz, formerly known as Coochicoo, took the opportunity to come up with a themed party. Indeed it was a perfect setup and venue for those looking for something different.

Vintage And Chic
This dress by Celest Thoi and the way this bride just carried it so well with a bird cage veil is just impeccable. This has to be one of our favourite original bridal gowns to date. The groom was perfectly suited up too, and we can tell he knows his stuff just by the combination of his shirt and pocket square. Wouldn’t it be great to see more men get it right the way he did? We can’t stop raving about this shoot because it’s just so well taken, it could easily have been mistaken for a destination shoot. This talented young photographer, NDrew, is worth taking notice of. The…

A Great Impromptu Wedding Video
We totally understand how a bride would have sleepless nights in the weeks prior to her wedding, as she thought about all the better ideas she could have implemented. We just never expected someone to actually be courageous enough to pursue the matter and actually make something happen. This entire video, from the brainstorming process to production to final editing, was done in a week by Rekord Haus. It is seriously good, and we can’t help wondering what they could have come up with, given more time. We definitely love the storytelling and art direction, but more than that, we are moved by the couple’s thoughtfulness in including their parents.…

Hidden Gems
There is much beauty in Chinatown and Little India. The rows of Peranakan shophouses, aplomb with colours and patterned tiles, were the perfect set. We also like the way 9Frames Photography played with the natural lighting so brilliantly. Black And White Photos
This is possibly one of the most beautiful sets of black and white photos we have ever laid eyes on. We can’t peel our eyes away! Not many photographers would dare to shoot an entire set of photos in black and white, and this one from Axioo is just astounding.

High Society Of The 70s
We can’t tell you how much we love “era” photoshoots. Extra effort has to be taken to ensure that the lighting, props and attire are right. We know thePhotograph is a very talented team of photographers but this is really like one of our all-time favourite photoshoots, and we just couldn’t wait to share it with you. thePhotograph: “Sandra and Anto are from Jogjakarta. Their common interest in cats brought them together. Everyone who has been to Jogja knows that they are known for their vintage cars, so we adopted a ‘High 70s’ style for this photo session. “There’s something romantic about driving around Jogjakarta, with music playing in the…
