Thanks to MJK Photography for capturing the newlyweds and their love for each other up against a backdrop of dreamy fields of flowers, blossoming trees and the undeniable energy of Japan’s Shibuya crossing.

    Tokyo By Night Collection

The cityscape and magical lights of Tokyo at night are rarely seen in bridal portraits, so huge thanks to 37 Frames Photography for sending this to us. Japan truly is your playground. Dee Green of 37 Frames: “Fei and Lawrence chose to tell their love story through 37 Frames’ iconic Tokyo by Night Collection. It’s the perfect way to explore the city in the summer from day to night. There was a mix of iconic sights, parks and promenades; quiet, reflective moments on the train; and memories of all those hellos and just as many goodbyes in a place that means so much to them. “Tokyo was their halfway meeting…

A Glimpse Of A Japanese Wedding

One of our favourite parts of the job is exploring different types of weddings in Asia. We especially love the rich culture found in Japanese weddings, which are normally more formal than what we might be used to. That wasn’t the case for this wedding, which was held outdoor, and filled with colour and loads of laughter without missing out on the usual customs. Thanks, Daniel, for sharing this with us. Daniel of The Royal Workshop Japan: “Personally, it was one of the most memorable weddings of 2014, as the wedding was held at a camping spot (near the 5th base of Mt Fuji) in the midst of a typhoon…

7 Things You Need To Do In Tokyo

Japan is definitely a place where couples fall in love – if they haven’t already. We’re not sure whether it’s the experience of strolling the streets, surrounded by people speaking in a foreign language, or the extremely good looking, nice folks in a country overflowing with cool, pretty things. We love Japan, and Tokyo should definitely be one of your first stops if you’re heading over there for the first time. Choose the timing of your trip carefully because every season brings about a new adventure in Tokyo. As for us, we love them all. #01 Lunch at the park Buy a bento box from the supermarket, nicely wrapped in…

A Great Story In Romantic Kyoto

A stroll through picturesque Gion Shirakawa in early winter, complete with glimpses of geishas on their way to work, is just priceless. We have to admit that we are in love with 37 Frames Photography’s portfolio, and consider it a pleasure to have had an exclusive interview with them for the magazine. Yohko and Vijay might call America home, but it’s not surprising that they would choose to have their bridal portraits taken in Kyoto, one of Japan’s most beautiful cities. Kyoto is already a city of great treasures, and this couple’s rich cultural heritage – Yohko is Japanese while Vijay is Indian – only enhances the beauty of it…

    Romantic Kyoto Honeymoon

Kyoto is possibly one of the most romantic places in the world, filled with countless temples, gardens and castles, with so many picturesque places that it can be difficult to know where to go. Here is a short three-day itinerary for Kyoto, travelling from Tokyo by Hikari Shinkansen train. For transportation within Kyoto for this particular itinerary, a day pass isn’t recommended because getting to the places on the itinerary require different train and bus lines. Kyoto is very touristy. The bad thing about it is the food and souvenirs will be a bit pricey compared to Tokyo, but the great thing is it is actually really organised, well equipped…

    A Promise

This video is a man’s promise to his fiancée. We like how he pondered the meaning of life and marriage during his recent trip to Tokyo with Connie, and we couldn’t have phrased it better. It’s really worth a look (and a thought). What exactly is marriage to you? We understand how you can easily get so excited about the gowns, theme and décor but did you put just as much thought into your vows and the union you are about to enter into? It’s a brand new year and we wanted to start on the right note. Plan your wedding with a real understanding of what marriage is; it…

    Countryside Tranquility

Film photography has been making a comeback of late, and if you are a fan you will like this set of bridal portraits that was taken in Nagano, Japan. This is thegaleria’s signature style but it is still the photographer, Brian, who has done an impressive job on his maiden trip to Nagano. Most of what you see is original, untouched-up photos, which makes them even more awesome. We are awed. A Snowy Day In Kyoto

Kyoto is a very beautiful place, well known for its pristine natural beauty, and you will see many couples, even from other parts of Japan, flocking here to take photos. The local lovebirds often put on their traditional costumes and stroll the streets, whispering and giggling to each other, and you’ll also see couples cycling together or being ferried around by rickshaw. Though it’s rather crowded during peak season, the overall vibe is still tranquil and peaceful. It’s definitely not hard to capture good photos here, but this snowy scene at Togetsukyo Bridge at Arashimaya, also known as “lovers’ bridge”, is totally the picture perfect moment. DIANA & KELVIN {Japan}…
