    The Ultimate Glamour

As lovers of art and beauty, it was not surprising at all that Analy and Jose chose to be wed at Antigua, Guatemala, a UNESCO world heritage site. The couple knew from the moment they got engaged that they wanted a small and intimate destination wedding. Analy: “I fell in love with my shoes because they were simple and chic. I put on more traditional jewellery during the ceremony and kicked it up a notch with a bulkier and trendier necklace for the reception. My wonderful stylist braided my hair into a half up-do for the reception and added a gorgeous hairpiece that completely transformed my look and went amazingly…

    Cool Wedding Party

We extremely love how this couple had no printed wedding invites and wedding cake. The bride couldn’t recall what heels she wore, and she wasn’t concerned about the flowers and favours because someone else took care of them. Looking at the pictures, you can see it turned out to be a totally rocking and cool wedding. In fact, we’re never seen a properly planned wedding that looked more fun than this one. Barbara: “[We had] no concept at all, really. The idea was to keep it as fun and stress free as possible. No rules. “It was great having all my friends and family from all over the world fly…

    Inimitable Style

Illustration by Tokwa Penaflorida We have seen creative people but Garovs and Ryan from Everywhere We Shoot are from a different realm altogether. Their style is really quite inimitable. Obviously this is not the kind of bridal portrait you see every day. We might even go further and say it’s never been seen before. We were already very excited when we saw some of the designers’ work, and now to have some of the best in the creative industry come together to do Garovs and Ryan’s wedding… we can’t help but feel overwhelmed. These photos were shot by MangoRed, in collaboration with some Filipino illustrators in Manila. Illustration by Apol…

    A Token Of Love

It might have been windy but who could complain about getting married at the beautiful signature Cliff-Edge Sunset Cabana at Alila Villas Uluwatu? Grace and Francis really are a sweet couple, and we could feel their quiet, genuine love through each of these photos. Besides the Cartier Love Bracelet, a token of his love to her, they also exchanged cards that they’d written to each other. Today, more than a celebration of pretty weddings, we’re celebrating true love. Grace: “Our wedding wasn’t perfect. It was windy, guests were stuck in traffic and jetlagged, I probably had a few bobby pins loose, some lanterns went out, and we couldn’t find our…

Galia Lahav Haute Couture 2013 Collection

Galia Lahav is recognised in Israel and abroad for her unique and luxurious evening dresses and bridal gowns. Her new collection, ‘The St-Tropez Cruise’, is totally breathtaking. Inspired by the on- and off-screen elegance of undisputed style icons Grace Kelly and Brigitte Bardon, Galia explores body-hugging silhouettes that softly embrace each curve, imperial ball gowns, and statuesque red carpet glamour dresses, all in a modern look but with a wink at the sizzling ’60s. We simply love the classic silk satins, chiffons, French lace, tulle and dotted net, mixed with novelty hand-embroidered details, crystal and pearl embellishments, and antique cross-stitched ‘Gobelins’ medallions and floral motifs. Here are just some of…

    Many Cultures, One Union

The beauty of traditional design elements combined with a modern touch. In design school, we learned that beauty is meaningless without a concept or reason. Designs with meaning impart something to the people who encounter them. The great thing about Asia is our rich culture. We take it for granted sometimes, but Mary and Jeffrey have breathed new life into it for us. Mary grew up in the Philippines, but did her law degree in the Netherlands. Jeffrey grew up in the US, and lived in France and Senegal while in the Peace Corp before making the move to Indonesia. We are privileged to get to see this lovely couple’s…

    Parallax Effect Wedding Website

Wedding websites aren’t a big thing in Asia yet, but maybe they should be. Scrap the wedding invitations, save the trees, and do something awesome like this instead. Hopefully, your guests will read it and RSVP immediately. Jessica Hische is a highly sought after letterer and illustrator whose work has graced magazines and book covers, while Russell Maschmeyer is a designer at Facebook. Their wedding website is a wedding invitation that also doubles as a timeline of their journey together, from the day they first met right up to their big day. This parallax effect, which was created using CSS3 and HTML5, is the perfect storytelling format, as clicking from…

A DIY Destination Beach Wedding At Koh Lipe

Not even rain could stop this bunch from having fun. Friends and family members who were game enough to fly all the way to Koh Lipe for the wedding certainly were not going to let raindrops stop them from partying. This wedding is testament to the fact that one’s wedding day is not about being perfect, but about celebrating the love of two special people coming together as one. Look at all the DIY details – flowers, décor, stationery, favours, etc. – they were all a labour of love by the newlyweds’ loved ones. And check out the great use of typography in all their collaterals. We are happy to…

Childhood Sweethearts Marry After 23 Years Apart

This is definitely not a story you hear every day. While puppy love often fades, it didn’t for Sarah Ho and Wilson Ng, who tied the knot at The Repulse Bay, Hong Kong, more than 20 years after they first met as children. Sarah formerly a designer at Paul Smith and Cath Kidston told the Hong Kong South China Morning Post, “Our mums were best friends and when they met, all the kids used to play together. I remember clearly that Wilson was my partner for this silly game we used to play. When his family left for America, I refused to partner up with any other boy. In fact,…

    Underwater Photography

Rafal Makiela a professional underwater photographer, involved in advertising, fashion and artistic wedding photography. He is from Wroclaw in Poland. His photography journey began eight years ago, sparked by the birth of his daughter Maksymilianna. The desire to capture and immortalise every day of her life led to his interest in photography, and it became his passion. Slowly, Rafal learned, following in the footsteps of the best photographers, and practicing constantly. One day, he came across photographs by Zena Holloway, and decided that he wanted to accomplish the spectacular with his pictures, like she does. This is a set of photos he recently took. To divers out there, we say,…

    Storytelling, The Stylish Way

Azlan Iskandar, one of Malaysia’s world-class squash athletes, wed Ung Yiu Lin, founder of Shoes, Shoes, Shoes, and Klutched at the end of last year. We are so proud to feature this video by Shiroku Production, especially because our creative director Chaiyen and our designer Wee-Mei were commissioned to help create it. The video tells the story of how the couple met. They didn’t want a typical sweet, lovey-dovey video. It doesn’t represent them very well, and they wanted a slightly dark, fantasy feel. So they went with a Tim Burton-esque style. Believe us, Wee-Mei went to a lot of effort to illustrate all these graphics. And even though we…
