    Vintage Carnival

This wedding is awesome on so many levels. A good location, and a very inspiring, fun theme and team! And of course we have this set of very beautiful images from Jonathan Ong. Sometimes we feel as though all of heaven rejoices whenever there’s a couple who celebrates with a wedding that is true to themselves. We know it’s not fair; the bride had a team of wedding designers. Which got us thinking, maybe sometimes we just don’t trust our event planners enough when they give us crazy, conceptual ideas, because we think no one has done it before. Maybe sometimes we just need to dive in with a leap…

    The Time Tunnel

The first time we walked into the Time Tunnel Museum at Cameron Highlands, we knew right away that we just had to do a photoshoot here. This undiscovered place is filled with gems of yesteryears. Gone are the days of museum displays in glass cases. Here, you literally feel as if you’ve walked through a time tunnel and gone back in time. Thank God for our photographer, Jennifer of Jspy Photography, and the team, who were game enough to make the trip up to Cameron Highlands with us. Chaiyen: “The surroundings are rather dark, so for the casual look we styled the couple in brighter colours. We brought Coke bottles…

True Love Is A Big Deal

It’s not every day we see a relationship that lasts 10 years, so we’re truly happy for Janel and Paulo, who not only found a lover in each other, but a best friend whom they will keep by their side forever. And with that, we bring you this beautiful set of photos taken by Jaja Lifestyle Photography. From the bride: “The whole wedding was unforgettable but some of the most special moments were when we recited our personal vows, and when I walked down the aisle and saw our families, friends and my grandparents, and Pau waiting for me at the altar. It has always been my dream to walk…

    Under The Northern Lights

Definitely not your regular bridal portraits, these cost an estimated USD20,000, and much planning had to be done in advance to ensure that they achieved the results they wanted. Needless to say, the journey there wasn’t easy, and neither were the weather conditions. This pursuit of the Aurora Borealis, commonly known as The Northern Lights, was made possible by ChuianFeng of Avior Pictures and a team adventurous enough to move out of their comfort zone, not to mention a couple crazy enough to attempt it. Read more about the challenges they faced in our magazine, and find out more from the website they specially set up for this. JIAN YONG…

    Boho Chic

About 280 guests gathered for the wedding of these two photographers, Mildred and Marlon. Decorated with beautiful vintage paraphernalia, the reception was everything the couple wanted – the perks of working in the wedding industry and having friends who understood exactly what they wanted for their wedding. Mildred: “We wanted to have a very laidback wedding; something that’s not too formal and constricted. A bohemian wedding with a touch of vintage was outright perfect for our personalities. It’s a good thing working in the wedding industry has its perks. We were able to work not only with colleagues but people from the industry whom we already consider friends. Because of…

    Countryside Tranquility

Film photography has been making a comeback of late, and if you are a fan you will like this set of bridal portraits that was taken in Nagano, Japan. This is thegaleria’s signature style but it is still the photographer, Brian, who has done an impressive job on his maiden trip to Nagano. Most of what you see is original, untouched-up photos, which makes them even more awesome. We are awed. XIN MEI & ESMOND {Japan} Art Direction and Photography by Brian Ho of thegaleria / Bridal Gown by Junko Yoshioka / Hair and Makeup by Maho Hamashima and Ayako Kurosawa / Groom’s Attire by Justmen’s / Location Scouting and…

    Whimsical Celebration

To be honest, when we first stumbled upon this set of photos, we didn’t realise that it was a wedding in Singapore. The flowers and colours used were so rare. The photography style of Ivan Tan definitely did its magic too – the images and emotions look so effortless yet real. It’s not often we get to see an Asian bridal couple actually relax and enjoy their wedding. We like it when the couple is involved in the décor because it seems as if their wedding is their first special project together. From the round green and purple paper lanterns, origami cranes and crepe paper flowers, to the pretty centerpieces,…

    Spontaneous Moments

Joston and Michelle had a yellow and grey theme for their wedding, and wanted to include those colours in their bridal portraits too. The couple love the outdoors and hikes, so they traveled to the nearest peak and did a little “hike”. We can’t fully express in words how much we love the whole styling and mood of this shoot done by Funky Dali. Michelle and Joston: “We were convinced about doing a photoshoot with them because we’d viewed their portfolios and really loved their style. The entire experience with Funky Dali felt comfortable and flexible with a lot of freedom for feedback on our ideas. “The photos turned out…

    BERTA 2013 Bridal Collection

Bridal couture in Israel never ceases to impress us. A brand named after the designer, BERTA’s leading line of work is based on high quality luxurious fabrics, uniqueness and premium level finishes. The inspiration for the 2013 Collection came primarily from the classic 1920s and 1950s, which is why the Israeli designer chose to shoot the catalogue in Paris, France – one of the most classic places of all.
The trend in this year’s collection points toward a more simplified design, but with a sophisticated touch and unique materials, all delivered with the boldness BERTA’s designs are known for. We thought we’d also revisit their 2012 Collection, which was well…

    Vintage Bridal Portraits

The thing about outdoor photoshoots in Malaysia is you can hardly predict the weather. Cool weather, however, isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Oftentimes what is unplanned can seem all the more beautiful and unique. Of course a good photographer who knows how to adapt is important. Jangguttouch: “The day was cloudy and hazy. The weather was obviously not on our side. We could not get proper light. However, at the click of the first shutter, we could feel that we would have breathtaking photos later. The haze and the branches of fallen trees helped us to create a temperate-climate setting. Everything made the day amazingly perfect!” IZWA & J. SHAMSUL…
