A Colourful Twist On Traditional Bridal Portraits In Malacca

We love weddings that incorporate elements of traditional Malay and Chinese attire, such as batik and the kwa, and we especially love the way this couple took those elements and gave it a refreshing, modern twist! The individual touches throughout, like pairing the long sarong-like skirts with sneakers, were subtle yet significant, allowing the lovebirds to put their own stamp on the bridal portraits. Another element that is uniquely 2020: the face mask! Set against the fun backdrop of Malacca, the bride’s curious take on her hairstyles, from Dutch braids to twin buns, really completed the look. Many thanks to Jens Kv Photography for this set of bridal portraits!

Casually Artsy Yet Joyful Bridal Portraits At Encore Malacca

At first glance, the artsy structure that sets the background for these bridal portraits make you wonder if they were taken at the Louvre or a Scandinavian museum… but it’s actually a performance arts theatre in Malacca! While Pantai Klebang has certainly made a name for itself as the place to go for dreamy desert-themed bridal photos, we love that this couple and their photographer stopped by Encore Malacca as well. The couple’s curiosity and adventure were well captured, all while keeping the vibe playful and thoughtful at the same time. Irene Yap of Irene Yap Photography: “This is the first engagement shoot I’ve done in my home country, Malaysia.…

Bridal Portraits Set Against Gorgeous Blue Skies at Pantai Klebang and Jonker Walk, Melaka

We say, hats off to the couples who are not afraid of a little inconvenience when it comes to getting their dream bridal portraits. Our tropical climate can make shooting in places like Pantai Klebang and Jonker Walk in Melaka tricky, but the temporary discomfort is worth it for a lifetime of memories. Thank you, Jens KV Photography, for these spectacular shots! This couple definitely didn’t let the heat and humidity deter them, and if there ever was a good time for PDA, that time is now! The bride-to-be looked fresh and gorgeous in her tulle baby blue gown, while her groom-to-be looked dapper and in great spirits. It’s fine…

DIY Navy and Blush Wedding at Rosa Malacca Hotel

We love how simple, classic and elegant this navy and blush wedding was – nothing over the top, just a sensible colour palette that provided a gorgeous backdrop for a lovely evening of a lifetime. “We always wanted a simple yet rustic outdoor courtyard for our wedding,” said the bride, Lin. “After a long search, we found Rosa Malacca Hotel and thought we’d struck gold!” Many thanks to CJ Photography for these amazing shots! The venue was cosy with a sense of privacy, and the couple easily embellished it to suit their colour theme of navy blue and blush – with a touch of rose gold. Lin found plenty of…

Dreamy and Passionate Bridal Portraits at the Sand Dunes in Malacca

Sometimes bridal portraits can appear to be more than just a snapshot of two newlyweds-to-be; they can look as dreamy and professional as an editorial shoot. For these newlyweds, it didn’t matter what the backdrop was – from the sand dunes of Pantai Klebang, Malacca, to the roads of KL and in a cosy coffee shop, it was clear all they had were eyes for each other, and that’s what truly mattered. Many thanks to Jasmine. A Photography for capturing these stolen moments – it’s amazing to freeze a moment of intimacy that perfectly encapsulates this couple’s engagement.

Avant-Garde Wedding Portraits On The White Sand Dunes Of Klebang, Malacca

An intrepid photographer with an equally radical couple – the captures from this day certainly made for a statement album that speaks volumes of the couple’s bold personality. Hats off to Fixer Photography for these brilliant photos! It’s no secret that couples who love to make a statement would do well to team up with like-minded and adventurous photographers who share their artistic vision. In this case, Yi Mann and Alex engaged Fixer Photography for their wedding portraits. The shoot was held in Klebang, a well-known seafront of white sand dunes in Melaka, where hours of walking in the hot sun were the biggest consideration. Said Sam Leong of Fixer…

Sweet Bohemian Bridal Portraits At Pantai Klebang Sand Dunes In Malacca

Set against the perfect backdrop of clear blue skies and sandy dunes that resembled a blank canvas, these bridal portraits made excellent use of the wonderful space. With a sweet lace dress and flowers in her hair for her and suspenders for him, the newlyweds went barefoot for a relaxed, bohemian vibe. We love the floral details here, from the décor to the bride’s anklets – what a dreamy touch! Thanks to Peter Herman Photography for these.

Futuristic Themed Bridal Portraits in the Desert

From the little details such as the groom’s geometric pin on his lapel to the more obvious design choices such as the bride’s gorgeous backless silver wedding gown, these newlyweds kept with their unconventional wedding theme of geometric silver for their bridal portraits. Set against a backdrop of sand dunes, with a bright pop of lush greens in the form of the bridal bouquet, the couple’s glittery silver and grey outfits, plus their cool shades, ensured a touch of glam. Many thanks to Peter Herman Photography for this set of bridal portraits. Do check out Natalie and Jayron’s geometric silver wedding story, which was the perfect continuation to this epic…

Bridal Portraits At The Sand Dunes In Malacca

An expansive terrain like the desert and sand dunes brings an extra element of mystery and drama to bridal portraits. This location was not devoid of greenery and water as it was at Pantai Klebang in Malacca, which gave the couple a pleasant sea breeze and a whole lot of space to explore. Tying together the whole look was the bride’s gorgeous lace dress, her messy bun held together by a sweet flower crown. Many thanks to Daphne Ng for this set of bridal portraits, and for bringing our attention to this new photoshoot location.

A Sweet Pastel Outdoor Garden Wedding at Thistle Port Dickson

Outdoor weddings mean you’re at the mercy of unpredictable weather, and for this lucky couple, their wedding was blessed with last minute sunshine! They got to exchange their vows against the backdrop of a picturesque sunset by the beach, with the salty sea breeze and a beautiful flower arch. Pastel colours and florals added a sweet romantic touch to the décor, and we especially love the different bridesmaid dress styles. Many thanks to MunKeat Photography for capturing this beautiful garden wedding! May: “Every single thing was amazing and memorable! It was an outdoor wedding and forecasts from various sources indicated a thunderstorm for that day. The weather for the few…

    Stylish Shoot

This couple wasn’t up for a typical bridal shoot, so they did this. The great location and their stylish outfits made it truly original, and they are definitely great in front of the camera. Thanks, Cornelius, for sharing this awesome shoot with us. It was really tastefully done.
