A Quirky ‘Moonrise Kingdom’-Inspired Night Safari Wedding in Singapore

Now here’s a wedding for these Covid times – one that is outdoors and with facemasks! Turning the pandemic facemask on its head while also paying homage to Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ and ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, this couple incorporated “foxy” masks into their wedding, to brilliant effect. We love the rustic feel and nature vibes of the venue, not to mention the quirky aesthetics and fun additions in the form of exotic animals that made an appearance during the Night Safari! What a wonderful way to celebrate your wedding with family and friends. Many thanks to Leslie Photography for this beautiful set of photographs. Paige: “It rained throughout the morning…

Rustic Autumn Splendour at The Grand Marquee, Singapore

We love the exhilarating tempo of this unconventional wedding that was held at Wesley Methodist Church, Hotel Fort Canning and The Grand Marquee in Singapore. The lovely couple opted for just a wedding march in order to spend more time with their guests, showcase the special performances, and enjoy that which mattered the most. Thank you for these brilliant captures, AndroidsinBoots!

Marvel-lous Bridal Portraits For This Superhero and His Missus

From the city streets of Kuala Lumpur to the flowing waters of Kanching Waterfall, these lovebirds captured their love against two very different, but equally scenic, backdrops. The best part is that their personalities also came through in all forms – both individually and as a couple. It’s obvious that they are deeply in love with each other, while also being each other’s best friend. What a refreshing and lovely set of bridal portraits, thanks to Twins Photography!

    Starting Out as Coffee Lovers

The new bridal photography trend of cinematography is fast catching on, and we can see why. This couple’s love story is made utterly captivating and enjoyable by the simple storyline and cinematic visuals. Thank you for this brilliant piece, Filming Art Cinematography! We found this couple so inspirational in how they were absolutely comfortable in their own skin before the camera, and we love their confidence. In a matter of minutes, the audience is given a glimpse into the origins of their love story, and… well, the rest, as they say, is history.

Elegant Shanghainese Bridal Portraits Taken at PS150

Having your bridal portraits look like movie stills from the golden age of Hong Kong cinema is such an elegant idea. When it comes to creating a classic Shanghai theme, the only thing we like more than Hong Kong star Wong Kar-Wai’s ‘In the Mood for Love’ is a spunky couple bold enough to pull it off. Suanne and Matthew rocked their Shanghainese set, shot in the quaint little bar PS150 in Kuala Lumpur’s Petaling Street. Thanks for these stunning shots, Gim Hong of H+ Studio! The bar was the perfect venue, thanks to its unfinished brick walls, furniture, fittings, décor and glassware. There was no need for props; all…

A Boho Chic, Wes Anderson-inspired Wedding at Janda Baik

No stone was left unturned at this beautifully conceptualised Wes Anderson-inspired wedding. Full of decorative rugs and feathers, the newlyweds paid homage to Anderson’s quirky and distinctive aesthetic, from the colour palette and the décor to even his trademark symmetry. The bohemian style and festival vibe was an unconventional choice, but what an amazing wedding it turned out to be! Thanks to ChongYee Photography for capturing all the intricate details.

A Twilight-inspired Forest Wedding in Java, Indonesia

We’re completely captivated by this forest wedding! Almost straight out of a movie set, the details and decorative elements all came together for a picture perfect celebration. Inspired by the Twilight movie, this bride’s dream wedding featured lush drapes and hanging ferns, as well as chandeliers and woven hangings, in a clean green and white palette. These beautifully captured shots by Iluminen are absolutely breathtaking!

An Eccentric Rehash Of ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ In Batam, Indonesia

This pair of movie lovers certainly took their penchant for movies – or rather, for Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ – up a notch for their pre-wedding shoot. Described as an “eccentric, pubescent love story”, ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ inspired such props as vintage briefcases, lamps, books and a small tepee. With a boy scout uniform and a raccoon hat for him, and a vintage dress for her, the results are a timeless and unique album that is guaranteed to delight family and friends for generations to come. Many thanks to Depth of Tales for this truly brilliant work!

A Gatsby-Inspired Hollywood Glam Wedding In Hilton Kuala Lumpur

From gilded candlesticks and chairs to feathers, beads and all that jazz, Mellissa and Kristian’s wedding celebration certainly paid homage to the glam era of Old Hollywood. The mixture of long and round tables, giant balloon wall, and that dazzling black and gold backdrop with the newlyweds’ initials all helped to create a truly glamorous affair. What a night to remember! And many thanks to Inlight Photos for capturing these absolutely amazing photos!

A Wes Anderson-Inspired Boho Chic Forest Wedding In Bandung

Set in the middle of a misty, dreamy forest and with a striking injection of colour, this wedding perfectly encapsulated the bride and groom’s personality. Thanks to their love for colour and pompoms, the Pine Hill in Bandung was transformed into a fun, bright festival in celebration of this joyous occasion. Some things were kept simple, such as the bridesmaids’ dresses, which were in silver grey. But we were absolutely blown away by the bride’s reception gown, with its full orange skirt that perfectly complemented the many textures and colours of this soiree. An additional decorative note that we loved – the giant dream catcher set in the middle of…

    A Classic Hollywood Romance

Much like the happily-ever-afters of Hollywood films, this set of bridal portraits perfectly encapsulates the newlyweds’ mutual love for films and all things timeless. After all, a classic is a beauty that withstands the weather of time. With a dramatic red lip for the bride and dapper tailored suits for the groom, they were indeed a sight to behold, with no detail spared in their perfect homage to the golden age of Hollywood. Set in New Zealand with all its untouched beauty, we love the fashion choices (pearls and lace), floral prints and headgear. Many thanks to Euhau Leong of LOORK for capturing these amazing bridal portraits, and to Rong…

    A Lover, Not a Fighter

Fans of the Ip Man movie series, which tells the story of the legendary Wing Chun martial arts master, would be able to recognise this groom’s billowing robes. While in the movies Ip Man’s story focussed more on his martial arts and less on his relationship with his wife, it was still deeply romantic, albeit subtly. In these bridal portraits, Sanit Portfolio has captured the love and romance between the groom and his bride, dressed in a beautiful cheongsam, in the style of the Ip Man movies. Set against the backdrop of vintage shophouses, neon lights and understated glamour, the photos are dramatic and classically beautiful.
