A Modern Malay Wedding in The Oak Hall, Kuala Lumpur
Most traditional weddings tend to be very big affairs, which is understandable. After all, the marriage of two individuals should be celebrated, and as the saying goes, the more the merrier, right? Not anymore. These days, it’s more about the bridal couple and their closest family and friends. This wedding was classically perfect in so many ways, from the exquisite lace on the bride’s gown and veil to the groom’s navy suit. We also love the bridesmaids’ batik skirts and the groomsmen’s printed shirts. The décor was kept understated and modern, with red and white flowers and a simple bench for the dais, all bathed in gorgeous sunlight. Thanks to…

A Romantic, Moody Floral Wedding at Sentul Depot, Kuala Lumpur
The pandemic definitely threw a spanner into the works, but that didn’t stop Eileen and Nicholas from planning their dream wedding – and having the time of their lives when they finally got to celebrate their union. We know many couples have had to recalibrate their wedding plans, and these newlyweds were no different. From the décor to the delectable cheeseboard, they put extra thought into their special day to make their guests feel as if they had “travelled” somewhere. Many thanks to Natasha Khoo of The Peak Xperience for the gorgeous setup and Vinoth Raj Pillai for capturing these beautiful photos of joy! Additional decor photos above in this…

Refreshing and Gorgeous Wedding at Rama V Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur
We can’t help but smile going through this gorgeous album. The wedding was supposed to have been held in the outdoor area of the Rama V Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur, but alas, it started to pour just half an hour before the ceremony – just as the couple arrived! We love how undeterred they were, putting their best foot forward and bringing their wedding indoors. Our thanks to Louis Gan Photography for these brilliant captures, and Little Once Deco and Witchwood The Florist for the lovely décor!

A Pastel Indoor Garden Wedding At Lightbox, Sungai Buloh
From the bride’s lovely floral ‘cheongsam’ to the amazing floral crescent and photo wall, the abundance of flowers and greenery certainly elevated this wedding to the next level. The floral elements were not the only standouts in the décor, however. The romantic, semi-circle layout of the ceremony that allowed for the hall to be “flipped” for the reception was a clever touch. This has become the more sought-after option, as having the ceremony and reception in the same space minimises movement and makes the logistics easier. In Covid-19 times, this is a definite plus. Against the minimalist colour theme, the exposed brick wall and draped cloths were an interesting contrast…

A Rustic Chic Burgundy Outdoor Wedding in Janda Baik
You can’t go wrong with a rustic chic theme when the venue is Tanarimba at Janda Baik. The beautiful surroundings, wooden columns and lush greenery are more than enough, and all you need is a rich pop of colour. For these newlyweds, it took the form of burgundy floral elements. The bride looked stunning in her bridal gowns, especially the long-sleeved, short-skirted dress. Of course, what brought it all together was the vibrant joy at the celebration – thank you, The Wedding Barn Gallery, for these photos!

A Subtly Elegant and Modern Intimate Wedding at The RuMa Hotel & Residences
We often make the mistake of thinking that a small wedding has to mean something simple and lacklustre, but these newlyweds and wedding planner, Sherly of Tie The Knot, did exactly the opposite, achieving a wedding celebration that was both intimate and oh-so-glamorous. Amidst the lush backdrop of flowers and greenery was the understated elegance of a gilded geometric arch – we love how it peeks out as part of the backdrop while the couple exchanged their vows! Many thanks to MunKeat Photography for this beautiful set of photos!

A Whimsical Chic Outdoor Wedding At Janda Baik
There’s something magical about fairy lights and exposed wooden textures – it just transforms a regular room into a dreamy space. We can’t help but swoon over this wedding planned by XO23 Wedding Events, from its majestic wheat stalks, glittering lights and lush florals to the colour palette and rich variety of textures. Everything worked together to frame the stars of the soiree beautifully. Many thanks to Zach Chin for this amazing set of photos.

Classic Blush Wedding with a Hint of Rich Burgundy at St Mary’s Cathedral Kuala Lumpur
We love the classic simplicity of this gorgeous wedding at St Mary’s Cathedral. For many couples, weddings really are a celebration of oneness before God, which this couple’s celebration encapsulates. Kudos to Jason Koong of MJK Photography on this beautiful album.

An Intimate Dusty Blue and Gold Wedding at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur
We absolutely loved this classic, simple and intimate wedding at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. With a colour theme of dusty blue and gold topped with hues of green, it feels like a sort of grownup Disney set with a modern twist. Thank you for these brilliant photos, Arch and Vow! A number of things were personalised, including the wedding favours, where each guest’s name was embossed onto emerald agate pieces. These were chosen partly because green agate is believed to bring luck to its owner. The bride also wrote each guest’s name for the place cards, and made the newlyweds’ vow book. She shared: “We had several incredible memorable…

A Boho Chic, Wes Anderson-inspired Wedding at Janda Baik
No stone was left unturned at this beautifully conceptualised Wes Anderson-inspired wedding. Full of decorative rugs and feathers, the newlyweds paid homage to Anderson’s quirky and distinctive aesthetic, from the colour palette and the décor to even his trademark symmetry. The bohemian style and festival vibe was an unconventional choice, but what an amazing wedding it turned out to be! Thanks to ChongYee Photography for capturing all the intricate details.

Refreshing White and Blush DIY Wedding at Cameron Highlands
What a brilliant and generous idea! This couple’s wedding, beyond its ceremony and wedding vows, doubled up as a getaway with family and friends in cool and refreshing Cameron Highlands. Before a gathering of loved ones, they exchanged their vows on a perfectly manicured lawn, as gentle clouds of mist wafted overhead. Even though their theme of blush and pink was diluted by the many other colours thrown into the mix, the couple didn’t let it bother them, instead keeping their eyes on what truly mattered. Thank you for this wonderful album, ChongYee Photography!

A Wedding Night of Glistening Stars and Bling at Tanarimba Janda Baik
You’d be hard pressed to find a soul who didn’t think Tanarimba to be a marvellous wedding venue. Like many others, this couple had been to Tanarimba on prior occasions, and knew in their hearts that this would be the place where they would someday say their vows to each other. Thank you for these captivating shots, MunKeat Photography!
