The Wedding Notebook Magazine October 2018 – Issue 24

In this issue, you can see how newlyweds all over the region are adding blooms to their greenery, and creating romance by going with mostly pastel and neutral tones. Be it at a winery, café or their own backyard, we love how they are exploring different themes, from rustic to modern contemporary to over the top glamour. Also, in addition to gorgeous backdrops, it seems they are paying just as much attention to their dessert spreads and food presentation. Don’t miss our story on the couple who embarked on a five day adventure to capture their bridal portraits amidst the best that Mother Nature has to offer. Starting at Yosemite…

    A Love For All Seasons

There is no better spot to have a wedding than in front of an artist’s masterpiece, wouldn’t you say? The ‘Golden Mirror Carousel’ by Carsten Holler is breathtaking, with light reflecting off the golden surface. It is beautiful and, needless to say, not much décor is required. A bride who knows how to appreciate such a venue certainly has a creative flair, and this bride put much thought and DIY work into a lot of her wedding stationery. Thanks, Sayher Heffernan, for capturing the best moments of such a beautiful wedding.

    Garden Grandeur

High school sweethearts who are finally tying the knot – this is the type of story that will make people believe in love once again. Watching them exchange vows moved their guests to tears. It was a simple ceremony and reception at a venue with a picturesque view. They DIY-ed most of their stationery, and even gave out homemade cranberry dark chocolate and pistachio treats as wedding favours. It is personal touches like this that make this wedding all the more beautiful. Thanks, Sayher, for sending over this lovely story. Cheang Kee: “Some of the most unforgettable moments were seeing the bride walk down the aisle, us tying the knot…

What These Wedding Albums Tell Us About The Photographer

We’re totally sold by these pretty albums, and even though it’s not always the case, it’s also not entirely shallow to think that good products always come with great packaging. These albums all contain three elements: 1) Personalised, handmade details; 2) The photographers use only the best quality materials; 3) Beautiful layouts (only possible when the client doesn’t insist on including too many photos). Read on to find out what you can learn from some of our favourite photographers’ album packaging. We find it hard to believe that photographers who put so much effort into their albums won’t do the same for your shoot. #01 James Simmons Photography, Perth That…

    Rustic Peach

Eliska was a wedding coordinator in the Philippines before moving to Australia, so you know she won’t expect anything less than perfection for her own wedding day. She and Aaron wanted to get married in Sydney to mark the start of their new life there. A lot of love and detail were poured into their wedding, and we love how their family and friends came from afar to join them for the celebrations. Eliska: “I’ve always loved peach and vintage so we just played with both. We ended up with peach, blush and grey as our colours. And then it all became like, rustic chic, which was perfect for the…

    When Two Really Become One

It was a gorgeous autumn wedding with wonderful weather and a picturesque location to match. Looking at the groom’s mum in a sari and the bride’s mum in a ‘ao dai’, you know this isn’t just about the coming together of two people, but a marriage of two great families. Victoria and Jithma were married in a beautiful church in Middle Park, before heading to Melbourne’s CBD (Central Business District) to take their photos. Making their day even more memorable was an unexpected appearance by a Star Wars character. Their reception for family and friends also took place in the city, at a restaurant called Comme, where there were plenty…
