Artistic Monochromatic Bridal Portraits in Sydney

Could your bridal portraits become art? How awesome would it be for guests to realise that the artwork hanging in your home is also your bridal portraits? These newlyweds have the right idea – playing with negative space, using shadows, and getting creative with black and white photos. Those sand dunes are a gorgeous and unique backdrop too. Love this set by Aldo of Axioo.

Ivory and Blush Ocean View Wedding at Sergeant Mess Sydney

Here at The Wedding Notebook, we have always marvelled at brides who manage their own weddings, especially when there are multiple events for different groups of family and friends, both locally and overseas. Like many couples with several wedding reception obligations to fulfill, Bronwyn and Jason had three celebrations, all of which were efficiently organised and executed in line with their priorities. For their third and final reception, the couple’s vision was to have an intimate and relaxing evening with family and friends at Sergeant Mess Sydney, a splendid function venue with terrific views of the ocean. The bride got on to Instagram and pored over various DIY projects for…

Bridal Portraits at Balmoral Beach and Bradley’s Head, Sydney

Isn’t it just so beautiful when couples celebrate their love story against the backdrop of marvelous scenery? Like this couple did, why not let the cityscape of Sydney, the glistening waters of the harbour, and the famed Sydney Opera House frame your affections? Or let your hair down with a stroll along a beach and the nearby knolls and gardens. The idea is to let the photographers work their magic and capture your best angles together – all while you enjoy a beautiful, sunny day out together as soon-to-be husband and wife. Thanks for these pretty pictures, Tealily Photography!

Romantic Vintage Boho Portraits In Australia

As your wedding day approaches, take time off from that hectic wedding planning schedule for an album of bridal portraits that you will treasure forever. We love the intimacy in this couple’s photos, which were shot at the heritage-listed Horsley Homestead in Sydney, Australia, and perfectly coloured by the glorious rays of the setting sun. Dating back to Australia’s convict origins, Horsley Homestead, with its large hipped-roofed bungalow emulating the style of Indian colonial architecture, is infused with charm and character that will surely spark off great conversations. Many thanks to Wedding Gallery Studio for these fantastic shots!

A Stylish Jumpsuit For These Sydney Opera House Portraits

Photographed beneath the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House was this stylish bride in her wedding jumpsuit. Dressed in white, with a deep V neckline, open back and chiffon cape piece, she smiled, posed and strolled along the promenade – the Sydney Harbour Bridge and bay creating the perfect backdrop. Ideal for a chic city wedding or brides who want to let loose on the dance floor, bridal jumpsuits can create a silhouette that is just as seductive, dramatic and feminine as a dress. For some, stripping away the tulle and tiara also allows them to explore a more honest mode of self-expression. Thank you, Tealily Photography, for sharing…

Bridal Portraits In Sydney: A Celebration Of 10 Years

Think of marriage as a tree supplied by three roots: trust, commitment and delight. This couple’s courtship of 10 years, which included a period when it was long distance, is testament that good things don’t come easy and the merited prize of each other is indeed sweet. Taking their portrait shoot to Sydney, Australia, where the bride studied, the couple revisited their favourite places and delighted in the precious supply of memories that they have built together. Lilian recalled: “We wanted a relaxing, simple photoshoot and I even handpicked my own bouquet of fresh flowers just the day before.” Bridal portrait shoots can be quite demanding depending on the location,…

A Classic And Sleek Surprise Wedding in Sydney

We love how this couple managed to pull off a surprise wedding! They told their guests that they would be surprising the groom for his 30th birthday, only to turn the tables on them! The theme of black, white and silver was elegant and classic without giving anything away, and the bridal couple actually styled everything on their own – waking up early to do everything on their wedding day before heading back to the hotel to get ready together. Many thanks to Wattle & Lace for capturing these joyous moments.

An Intimate Glasshouse Wedding in Sydney

They kept the colours simple with just white and dusty pink, and let nature do the rest. We especially loved the transparent marquee roof that gave this wedding ceremony its beautiful natural light. Going hand in hand with the garden setting, the combination of bridal flowers, with lots of leafy greens, beautifully complemented the ceremony’s intimate feel, while the tea lights and floral centerpieces for the reception made for a simple yet elegant finish. Thanks to Jenny Sun Photography for this sweet set of photos.

An Enchanting Rustic Wedding At The National Arts School, Sydney

It’s easy to get swept up in the hubbub of planning a wedding, so much so that most newlyweds forget it’s also a celebration of love and one giant party! Not many would’ve thought to get married at an arts school, but this bride and groom had the right idea – exchanging vows at the National Arts School in Sydney against a stunning colourful backdrop, followed by a dinner reception at an old gaol site. Graffiti walls, natural sunlight and aerial shots formed the perfect equation for their wedding photoshoot. Many thanks to Lara Hotz Photography for the gorgeous pictures. Vanessa: “If there was an underlying theme to the wedding,…

    Floral Romance

Somehow, this bride just seems to know where to get her stuff. Their wedding bands were made and bought in Belgium, and she custom made the groomsmen’s attire and printed goods overseas. We are filled with excitement for this romantic affair. The lovely lace and romantic blooms are already enough to put a smile on our faces, never mind the gorgeous venue and stunning photos by Tealily Photography. A dream team that was carefully put together, it just doesn’t get any better than this. Gordon: “Seeing her in that dress, walking down the aisle, was my favourite moment. The whole day was memorable, from getting ready to go to the…
