Summer Chic At The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa

It’ll almost feel like you’re getting married at home – the Five-Bedroom Villa at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa is a private villa with an infinity pool and gorgeous seaside views of the Andaman Sea. For this shoot, bright, cheery pops of colour were paired with modern table settings, transforming the villa into a perfect space to celebrate your union. Deep hues of pink and green, together with bursts of yellow and white, as well as touches of glitter gave it all an elegant touch. For pre-dinner drinks, The Float is a great place for guests to mingle and enjoy the sunset as they sip on customised wedding cocktails.…

Art Deco, Coco Chanel-Inspired Elegance At InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

The great Coco Chanel once said, “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance,” and indeed, less is definitely more when it comes to the Chanel brand’s signature neutral tones. In this Coco Chanel-inspired setup, black, white, taupe, beige and gold were the perfect accompaniments to the decorative elements of clear bottles, pearls and gilded textures. Acrylic gilded paint applied to the inside of oyster shells made for beautiful place card holders, and an interesting art deco twist completed the minimalist, timeless yet modern look. The final touch to ensuring that everything looked absolutely perfect was the right venue – InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s ballroom and lobby looked amazing dressed in…

A Contemporary Marbled Theme at Four Points by Sheraton Puchong

As compatible as the union between the bride and groom is the juxtaposition of marble and wood, or the contrasting shades of blush pink and grey. Keeping things classic yet contemporary and minimalist, this theme made clever use of the marbled textures and wooden elements to embellish the classic wedding white, with a subtle finishing touch of gold added. Huge thanks to Joshua of Inlight Photos for capturing this gorgeous styled set by The Wedding Notebook at Four Points by Sheraton Puchong.

Beauty In Simplicity At Genji Japanese Restaurant, Hilton Petaling Jaya

When it comes to effortless aesthetics and clean and minimalist lines, the Zakka style never disappoints. MUJI-inspired and reminiscent of Scandinavian elements, the magic of this style comes in subtle yet natural forms mostly derived from fabrics that create different textures, prints and hues.  For our last event at Genji Japanese Restaurant in Hilton Petaling Jaya, we wanted to inject Japanese design and elements into the décor. Simplicity is a complex art – minimal yet requiring much thought. Many thanks to Joshua of Inlight Photos for capturing the event that The Wedding Notebook creative team had much fun putting together.

A Vibrant Tropical Rooftop Party At Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

What’s better than a party filled with vibrant colours, whimsical elements and a tropical theme? A tropical wedding party, of course! From the gilded pineapples to the poolside elements and amenities, a pool party right in the heart of the city would be the perfect setting for you to celebrate with loved ones. Throw in refreshing cocktails, bottled beers and delicious bites, and you’ll have a party to remember. TWN had the honour of having the couple Nick Davis and Eunice Lew, both talented singers in their own right, with us for this shoot. They are witty and fun, and we had loads of laughs, especially while working on the…

Contemporary Oriental Setting At Tao Chinese Cuisine, Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur

Of late, many young couples have been embracing their traditions and cultures, giving us the opportunity to feast our eyes on variations of the Oriental theme. Today we want to share something different. An Oriental theme doesn’t necessarily mean all red. Neither does it mean that you have to forgo trendy wedding ideas like calligraphy and clean fonts, modern stationery and gold elements. The intimate lunch experience we recently had at Tao Chinese Cuisine at Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur gave us a good idea of how you can merge traditions with modern elements to create something contemporary. The Wedding Notebook, who firmly believes in pushing wedding boundaries, once again collaborated with…

Modern Shanghai Inspired Theme At Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Chinese weddings are getting a modern update with a fresh injection of vibrant colours and textures. Best described as modern Chinese chic, decorative elements include traditional Chinese aesthetics but with new floral accents and hues. Reminiscent of a Shanghai Tang theme and put together by Wishing Tree, this beautifully curated décor is now on display at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

A Castaway Themed Setup At The Andaman

One of our favourite spots at The Andaman, Langkawi is the Jala restaurant, where you can enjoy the beach with a shelter. We did a setup there for 20 people with the famous wooden Meranti table. Peak Atelier by Peak Experience proposed a Castaway themed setup, using a little of the same corals and driftwood as the evening setting and simply adding some bottles and a fishing net that Darling Florist so brilliantly sourced. This is a perfect example of how minor tweaks can give your guests different lunch and dinner experiences. Thanks, Inlight Photos, for capturing this for us.
