Traditional weddings don’t need to be boring; check out the Bollywood party the team at Bliss & Glitz came up with for one of their corporate clients. Typography In Action

Typography is more than just about choosing nicer fonts for your wedding invitations. Sagmeister & Walsh has always come up with eccentric typography projects but we think their latest advertising campaign for Aizone – a luxury departmental store in the Middle East – will inspire you to think bigger. Check out the inspirational quotes in different mediums that float in the air or that seemingly flow directly from the model’s body. We’ve seen Trash The Dress concepts created with colourful Holi colours, but using words to create an outfit is really something else. You can also try leaves falling from a tree, gold dust, water hoses, maybe even ‘teh tarik’…

    Love Is…

Here we go again, talking about how typography can really change your whole wedding day style. Both Tiffany and Mark are designers, and Mark is actually a typographer too. We’ve lost count of how many designers’ weddings we have featured. Their refusal to conform to the norm always catches our eye when we see one of their weddings. There’s always a strong message and concept that carries through, and it’s such a joy to see them share their creativity with their loved ones. This couple wed on 09.10.11 in Palm Springs, thus the iconic logotype “Nine.Ten.Eleven.” They rented the entire Movie Colony Hotel in Palm Springs, and used it as…

    Old School Store

This theme brings us back to the good old days. ‘Kedai Runcit’, as we called it in Malay, were the stores that we all ran to after school. We would empty our pockets for as many sweets and chocolates they could offer in return. Themes like this are much talked-about by those present because they bring back fond memories. This is actually baby Irene’s first birthday party. When we initially discovered the talents of the team from Bliss & Glitz, we were so impressed by their work and quickly contacted them to see if they would consider doing weddings. They told us that they had started to accept a few…

    Infographic Wedding Invitations

Ryan and Garovs commissioned their friends over at Inksurge to design their infographic wedding invitations. Inksurge said, “The fun data, based on their nine-year relationship as lovers, was collected in the span of two weeks.” The 18 x 24 foldout poster was printed in Foldcote 15. This is just the beginning of it all, there are just so much we need to split the entries. Meanwhile enjoy this video animated by Acid House Post. Girls Scouts Bridal Shower

It’s nice when girls do something out of the ordinary for their bridal showers. Beau & Arrow Events came up with this incredible Girl Scouts theme with a touch of glam. Until we saw these beautiful photos by Swoon by Katie, we could never have imagined how those two things can go so well together. Kate and Ellen of Beau & Arrow Events: “We get so giddy every time we look at pictures from this one. The tablescape was definitely a labour of love. We spent hours spray-painting the mini lanterns and the canteens, which were camo print in a previous life, and sewing on the pink ribbons around the…

    Parallax Effect Wedding Website

Wedding websites aren’t a big thing in Asia yet, but maybe they should be. Scrap the wedding invitations, save the trees, and do something awesome like this instead. Hopefully, your guests will read it and RSVP immediately. Jessica Hische is a highly sought after letterer and illustrator whose work has graced magazines and book covers, while Russell Maschmeyer is a designer at Facebook. Their wedding website is a wedding invitation that also doubles as a timeline of their journey together, from the day they first met right up to their big day. This parallax effect, which was created using CSS3 and HTML5, is the perfect storytelling format, as clicking from…

A DIY Destination Beach Wedding At Koh Lipe

Not even rain could stop this bunch from having fun. Friends and family members who were game enough to fly all the way to Koh Lipe for the wedding certainly were not going to let raindrops stop them from partying. This wedding is testament to the fact that one’s wedding day is not about being perfect, but about celebrating the love of two special people coming together as one. Look at all the DIY details – flowers, décor, stationery, favours, etc. – they were all a labour of love by the newlyweds’ loved ones. And check out the great use of typography in all their collaterals. We are happy to…

    1940s-Inspired Wedding Theme

This 1940s-inspired conceptual shoot is such a feast for the eyes. We love every detail, including the Coke bottles, bowling pins, flowers, and how the pretty calligraphy tags adorned the whole place. One can sit here for hours and not want the day to end. This is a brilliant idea for an engagement party or bridal shower, photographed by Krista Mason Photography. Thanks, Lina from A Stunning Affair, for sharing this with us. Lina: “For Coca Cola lovers, we decided to create a beverage station featuring Coke, Diet Coke and Cherry Coke, and pair them with cherries, lemons and lime to go with the picnic menu. We also thought it…
