We love it when we see a couple’s nuptials reflect their personality, and for Jason and Constance, their wedding showed their deep love for each other, their down-to-earth personalities and the joy they wanted to share with their loved ones. The bride knew that she wasn’t a traditional ‘girly’ bride and chose to don a two-piece with oxfords instead of the usual bridal gown and heels. We think she looks fantastic! Thanks to Samuel Goh Photography for capturing these special moments.
Jason: “Seeing Constance walk down the aisle moved me to tears. I felt overwhelmed with joy because a longing in my heart had been fulfilled with love. The reality and privilege of being able to journey with her in a lifelong covenant made my heart overflow. I stood there experiencing a culmination of emotions, mostly revolving around my desire to have a committed relationship and the joy of being able to love and be loved unconditionally.”
Constance: “We went with a rustic theme, adorned with earthy tones, as we felt that it represented us – down-to-earth. Paya Lebar Methodist Church has a special place in our hearts because we had many emotional and spiritual moments of connection in that church. It felt like home to us.
“We chose Gardens by the Bay because we both love nature and the city skyline, plus our engagement happened on the MBS Sky Tower, and we thought there was no better way to remember the day than by enjoying the same skyline.”
Tips for brides: “Find your own voice – stay within the safe boundaries of advice from loved ones, but find your own voice and don’t apologise for what you want. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed and to have the jitters, but remember to enjoy the process too! It’s all part of the discovery. It’s said that people remember experiences more than gifts, so I would spend more time, effort and money on creating avenues for my loved ones to share in the moment of joy. May we not miss the point of marriage in the process of planning for the wedding day. To put things in perspective, it’s just one day, as compared to a lifetime of adventure.”
