Chien Wei is an entrepreneur and Wun Han is a real estate manager. They were university students when they met through mutual friends in a club. 7 years on, Wun Han proposed whilst on holiday at Bali. ‘He brought me to a hotel for lunch, excused himself for a work call, a waiter escorted me to our table, when I saw the set up and our mutual friends, I knew he was going to propose.’ recalls Chien Wei.

Like many other couples, their wedding plans were put on hold due to the pandemic, and after a long wait they finally settled on a wedding date in June 2022. After a morning gate-crashing and tea ceremony, Chien Wei and Wun Han exchanged their vows on the grounds of the Saujana hotel. ‘I really wanted a garden wedding and the Saujana Hotel fit the bill for me, it had this beautiful garden overlooking the lake, it also had a ballroom suited for a wedding dinner after.’ says Chien Wei.

The lively pink, lavender, peach and yellow coloured flowers laid out next to each other gave the effect of a childlike wonder the couple was trying to achieve. The floral arrangements were perfectly curated to lend off an organic feel akin to a flower garden. ‘I showed La Memoria my inspiration mood board and they brought it to life’ says Chien Wei. White chiavari chairs, oversized lanterns and white dessert cart completed the ‘wunderland’ lush garden aesthetics.

Chien Wei looked ethereal with bubbles floating gracefully around her as she walked down the aisle with her father by her side. After having exchanged their vows, the couple dedicated a love song to each other in front of family and friends.

‘I was really anxious that after all the planning, we would have to call off the garden ceremony as it was raining the whole weekend. Weather forecast predicted thunderstorms. It rained before the ceremony and somehow it stopped right before, it was like the perfect window of opportunity for us, because after we finished the ceremony, the rain resumed.’ she recalls with relief. ‘That part of the day was the most special for me’.
